Home Again, Home Again

I've been spending a few days with Ralph in
Virginia Beach. He was on call through the week and
weekend and needed to be there, so I joined him. I
took some projects with me to fill my time when he
was at work. All in all, it was a wonderful time.
I'm back in Richmond now, getting ready for
Thanksgiving.

I spent some of today with Anna and Wesley. We had
lunch at Guadalajara, played at the Discovery
museum, and rode the trolley (a bus that looks like
a trolley) through Charlottesville. Wesley helped
point out things on the tour. We rode past the
hospital where he was born, the University of
Virginia, and the chapel where his parents were
married. Then we walked to The Mud House for coffee,
before returning to our car. All in all, it was a
real nice time.

Days Of Rain

<IMG

Rain that began Tuesday afternoon has continued
around the clock until this morning. Poor Gwyneth
does not like to go outside when it is raining, so
I've had to suit up for the rain to take her
outside. We're both thrilled it's stopped. It's
time for our soggy grass to begin drying out.

We're pleased to have Anna and Wesley here for an
overnight visit. Due to illness, we've had to
cancel a couple of planned visits. We are making up
for lost time and enjoying the day!

Our very good friends are first time grandparents
with the birth of twins last Monday. Nolan and
Alexa are the pride and joy of a large extended
family. <IMG

been working on crocheting these two baby blankets
for a few weeks. Today, I'll mail them to the new
parents, with love.

Halloween Past

Last night, as I was involved with giving out the
candy, I remembered one Halloween when I got to go
trick or treating with my neighbor Garry. The two
of us were young, and after we'd gone to the homes
on our street, Garry wanted to keep going. We trick
or treated for blocks and both got a lot of candy.
After a while, I was lost. I don't really know if
Garry was too. But at one house, a lady answered,
and it was my Aunt Winifred. Suddenly, I knew just
where I was. She was quite surprised to see me, had
us come in and phoned my mother. Mom drove over to
get us and I can still remember being so happy we
didn't have to walk home!

Soggy Yard.

We've got big puddles outside. It's been raining
steadily through the night and half the morning. We
needed the rain, but it's really accumulating. I
have all the shades up as I'm feeling sunlight
deprived! Perhaps it'll be drier in Arizona for
the game with the Panthers. If not, they'd better
wear the black uniforms instead of the white ones!

It may be Halloween, but we're going to be turning
off the porch light at kickoff time for the
Oklahoma State and Texas game. Good luck to the
Cowboys!
